Online Panel: Working Together for a Better Future

Within the scope of the project “Fostering Social Inclusion in Multicultural Regions – SINC Cooperation for Social Inclusion Project” supported by the Civil Society Dialogue VI Program implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs with the financial assistance of the European Union, “Working Together For A Better Future” Panel was held on Monday, 30 May 2022. The online panel was attended by 62 people from Turkey and abroad, including partners from the FIER project for refugees in Europe.

The panel started with an opening speech by Yılmaz Erdem Vardar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yuva Association and Project Coordinator of Cooperation for Social Inclusion. Following Yılmaz Erdem Vardar, Support Group Network (SGN) SINC Project Officer Ziyad Tarek gave information about SGN’s work in Sweden on social inclusion of migrants. The last speaker of the first session, Anders Nordberg Markhede, Head of Labour Market Unit of Mölndal Municipality, one of the SINC Project participants, gave information about the projects implemented by Trolhattan and Mölndal Municipalities to facilitate the participation of disadvantaged groups in society and the labor market.

In the second session of the “Cooperation for a Better Future Panel”, Ayşe Özbabacan, Stuttgart Municipality’s Commissioner for Integration, talked about the work carried out by the Municipality of Stuttgart in cooperation with non-governmental organizations on social inclusion. Yılmaz Erdem Vardar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Yuva Association and Project Coordinator of Cooperation for Social Participation, began his speech after Ayşe Özbabacan and gave examples of good practices from Turkey regarding local government-civil society organization cooperation. The panel was concluded by answering the questions of the participants and receiving their feedback.
